Most EAs have a two-year diploma, usually in Education Support or Child and Youth Work (this is in Ontario). They also have training in First Aid/CPR, Non-violent crisis resolution/communication, and other specialties such as G tubes, lifts, restraints, etc. Work as an EA will depend on the school, program, and individual needs of students.
