The key to crawling

Josie has developed a new obsession: our dog, Lillian.  Josie tracks Lilly's movement around the room and excited flaps her arms when Lilly gets temptingly close.  However, Lilly's no fool: She doesn't get that close unless we bribe her with treats.  We've been working with Josie on using "nice hands" to pet the dog but the moment we glance away, Josie grabs a clump full of fur and tries to pull it towards her mouth.  Hey - she just wants to see what Lillian tastes like!  Vanilla ice cream?  Mashed potatoes?  Every white flour based, refined carbohydrate indulgence all rolled into one delicious canine?

Yesterday, Lilly brought her chew stick and ropes and sat inches away from Josie.  You could sense Josie's excitement and it occurred to me: This just may be the key to crawling.

It's a good thing Lillian moves swiftly because Josie's coming for her and it's just a matter of time!

  2. So cute! Josie will be all over the place before you know it! The Skink (my *enhanced* daughter) never crawled - she rolled everywhere... *really* fast!
