This was the first year Josie seemed to somewhat understand the concept of a birthday party so we let her pick the theme. In true Josie form, she chose: "Dance Party". We have a "Dance Party" daily here at our house but for her third birthday, we kicked it up a notch with friends, family, decor, and cake! Our dancing diva was thrilled!
While Usher, Vanilla Ice, and Taylor Swift serenaded us, we gathered together and watched Josie open her gifts. Aunt Leanne helped keep Josie on task (while stopping for the occasional hug) and she immediately discarded all wrapping paper remnants. Leanne likes things tidy!
Josie got all sorts of wonderful gifts including this preppy navy & blue sailor-type dress from Mama Hop (big shocker!)...
Josie looks really enthused, doesn't she?
...but Josie's most cherished gift, by far, was an animated chicken that plays "The Chicken Dance". Long after the music ended, our guests went home, and her shirt had been removed and Spray n' Washed, Josie was still sitting on the floor with that darn chicken, flapping her wings to the music.
In fact, "chickens" seemed to be the secondary theme of Josie's third birthday as evidenced by the fact that her crib has now become her own personal chicken coop.
We'd like to extend our sincere thanks for all the birthday wishes. It's so hard to believe that our little baby is three!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Josie JoJo! You've filled the last three years with unimaginable joy. We are so proud of you!
I'm cracking up laughing here over the nautical theme. I can see this being carried on for many years to come.
