Yesterday we were thrilled to receive a phone call informing us that our attorney was able to get us a 2010 court date to finalize Josie's adoption on Tuesday, December 28th (which is, coincidentally, her 9 month birthday). Of course I decided it was imperative that she have a big, frilly . Travis (yes, Travis) went to Von Maur last night and came home with this ornate number. When I went to try it on Josie this morning, her reaction was less than favorable.

I seriously have 99,000 photos of the kid smiling ear-to-ear but I put one fancy dress and a pair of tights on her and you'd think I made her swallow potassium. Let's just hope she doesn't act like that on Tuesday in front of the judge..."PLEASE don't make me a permanent part of this family!!!!!"
In her defense she was tired (ready for that mid-morning nap), hungry (Travis accidentally bought ready-to-feed formula instead of concentrate and then added water to it and gave it to her in her overnight feed last night- oops!) and in no mood for a fashion show.
Speaking of Travis' affinity for fashion, if it's not emasculating enough that he got assigned to the frilly, adoption finalization dress errand last night, while he was waiting in line, a lady asked him to choose between two Christening gowns for her son citing that her husband wouldn't approve of anything too "girly". Now he's an IT Manager by day and a fashion stylist by night! Move over Rachel Zoe!
