Pigtails Continued...

Last week Josie wore PIGTAILS and that was exciting!
It was particularly fun for me as I haven't been able to fix pigtails in anyone's hair since back in the days when I used to take out my hair stylist aspirations on my first "baby" - poor Lillian.
That was a LONG time ago.  Waaaaaaay back in the olden days when my husband actually still had hair! (Sorry Travis - hee hee!) As you can see, his hair style may have changed but his fashion sense never did.  He's still sporting those Fighting Illini tee shirts!

Anyway, Josie was busy admiring her new 'do in the mirror in our bedroom when Travis swooped her up and carried her into the office where I was.  I looked over at her and she was missing one of her bows.  "Where did he other bow go?" I asked Travis.  "I dunno" he replied, obviously not the least bit concerned.  So I wandered back into the bedroom and I didn't see it.
I painstakingly retraced his footsteps down the hall into the office; I looked all around her jumperoo; I checked everywhere she was and I could not find that darn bow!  I looked at Travis and said "You need to help me look for this bow!  Those are the best bows she has and they're not cheap!"  Attempting to appeal to his frugal side was fruitless, as his unflappable feathers were not about to be ruffled over a teeny little pink bow.  He could care less!

I usually don't lose things - it had to be SOMEWHERE - so I was absolutely bewildered, aggravated, and upset...I stopped just short of putting up a "Missing Bow" flyer but I couldn't stop wondering 'where could it have gone???'.
Later that night, I found out exactly where that bow had gone as I was changing Josie's diaper.  Those of you with weak stomachs may want to stop reading right now.  Those of you with kids will undoubtedly appreciate my shock, disgust, and welcome-to-parenthood moment as among a pile of poo I discovered one little pink bow...
Charming, indeed!

I need to stop sharing my poop stories because I think one poop story begets another.  Maybe it's poop Karma.  Or maybe it's just parenthood.

Until next time...

  2. I think that all parents have had our share of "poop Karma". Josie gets cuter by the day. :)

  5. What a cutie pie! My first daughter ATE her little gold ball earrings when she was one. We had to watch her poop until they "appeared". The poop stories never end when you have kids.

  6. Well, now I feel like the biggest DUFUS in the toolbox!! I thought she SWALLOWED the bow and it went all the way through her (THAT'S what MY kids would have done)... Duh, the bow fell off her head and into the diaper, right?

  9. No, no she didn't swallow it! The bow fell down her back and into her diaper; sometimes the diaper gaps when she's leaning forward. Thanks for the concern; I apologize for the confusion!
