Mom vs. Dad

Today Josie got a new Mic-Key button - a ritual we repeat every three months.  Here she is on the exam table this afternoon, anxiously anticipating her new accessory.
Three months ago, at her last appointment, she was accompanied by her father because I had just given birth.  This is what the doctor found when he walked in:
Just to clarify
In Mom's care:

In Dad's care:
As you can imagine, I was mortified when I saw this Kodak Moment that my husband was kind enough to capture for posterity.

Me (in a shriek 3 octaves higher than my usual voice): What happened to her hair?!?!
Travis: She pulled it out.  We had a long wait.
Me: Why didn't you fix it?!?!
Travis: I tried three times!  I don't know how!

Somehow, of all the talents my husband has acquired over the years, he missed "Toddler Hair Styling".  We're going to have to work on that.

When we got home, we attempted a little photo shoot, showcasing these sassy sisters in their matching outfits from Mama Hop, but this is all we got...
More screaming and shushing...Sorry Mom.  Maybe next time!

  1. I love this post! So Funny! It sounds like a conversation my husband and I would have happened if we were in the same situation! Your girls are fabulous, btw!

  2. First, may I just commend that girl on REACHING the 3 month replacement marker? I cannot recall getting to schedule our new button ONCE. Always an emergency pop in by mom after a naughty pop OUT by Pudge.

And I cannot stop laughing at the dad 'do. For the rest of my life, I will NEVER forget the morning I had to be at church before Justin, leaving him to prepare Pudge for church. Just WOW. No exaggeration. She showed up wearing a sweatshirt, pantyhose and boots. WHERE WERE HER PANTS? And her hair looked shockingly similar to Lady Jo's (minus the vertical achievements of Josie...wowza girl. You have a talent).

But, when you consider the fashion ensembles I've seen both our husbands sporting in public, we shouldn't really be surprised, should we?

  3. Hey, you have to give your husband credit for taking the picture then showing it to you!

But ya, there is a slight difference....

  4. Oh girl, Alayna has been with us for over 3 years now and Jason STILL can't put in a ponytail holder to save his life. It must be something missing on the male gene. LOL

  5. Very cute outfits, Mama Hop - those two are ready for the Country Western Awards tomorrow night!
As for Miss Josie at the doctor's, good grief Daddy - she looks like she spent the night before 'on the town..'

  6. HAHAHAHAHA! Poor husbands, they just don't get it. A simple barrette in Grace's hair is gone in 0.2 seconds in Daddy's hands!
