Christmas Highlights

Christmas 2011 was a huge success!  Travis' parents (YaYa and Papa) joined us to help Merryn celebrate Baby's 1st Christmas and we had a fantastic time.  Here's your CCE Christmas update:

Guests may wonder why ornaments abruptly stop 2/3 of the way up our Christmas tree and there's a simple explanation...
Aunt Leanne, our official tree decorator, is only 4'8''.  Girlfriend can't reach any higher than that!  But that's okay; we like it that way!
Last week, a package arrived from Mama Hop's dear friend, Ann.  Enclosed were adorable "Josie" and "Merryn" dolls.  Here's how this works: Josie opens up her new doll and immediately falls IN LOVE!
I then present Merryn with her new doll. Josie sees that I have the camera out and spontaneously turns on the charm and leans in to kiss her baby sister...
...and in the blink of an eye, Merryn's doll is confiscated by a pickpocket in pigtails!
In other Christmas news, Josie was the lucky recipient of a "Let's Rock" Elmo - compliments of YaYa and Papa.  Josie doesn't watch TV so she really doesn't know who Elmo is.  So when we would refer to Elmo, she immediately points to her elbow.  Elmo/Elbow - whatever!
Notwithstanding her lack of exposure to Sesame Street, Josie is an instant fan of Elmo.  Although, Josie can't seem to understand why Elmo doesn't respond when she says and signs "More!".  I keep having to remind her, "Elmo doesn't understand sign language; press his foot!"
Josie had loads of fun with her YaYa and Papa...maybe too much fun!  The morning of their departure, we decided to take down the Christmas decorations.  Josie didn't exactly pull her weight...
Zzzz...

Looks comfortable, doesn't it?
Aunt Leanne will be pleased to know that the excessive hype surrounding her Christmas gift wasn't lost on Josie.  "The chicken in my closet" instantly became Josie's trusty sidekick.
Just when Travis and I were celebrating Josie's pacifier cessation victory...
Yeah, that's just weird!
