The reason Josie isn't walking yet

Josie turned two in March and she still isn't walking.  We finally discovered why.

 His name is Kody.

He's a physical therapy grad student who is an "apprentice" to Josie's beloved PT, Katie.

From day one, Josie was smitten.  She thinks he's an absolute dreamboat!
Kody is downright wonderful with children, but Josie would prefer to think that she gets the V.I.P. treatment and he's just so-so with the rest of the kids.

If she learned to walk, it would eliminate her reason to have a weekly visit with her crush du jour.

So for now, she's just going going to sit back and relax in anxious anticipation of her next date with Kody.

Josie makes the following proclamation about 400 times a day in our house...

It's too bad Kody's term ends in September. Don't worry, JoJo - there's always your first love...

* Special thanks to Kody who benevolently agreed to let us have fun with him on the World Wide Web!

  1. Kody is cute AND awesome with kids with special needs? Sign me up!

Won't Usher be jealous that he's being dethroned?

Btw, Jojo's articulation is FANTASTIC! She's too cute, and I love Leanne's commentary in the background.

  3. I love Leanne's comments from the peanut gallery! And Josie's speech is fantastic. Walking, talking - it's perhaps a bit of a tradeoff? Our 5 year old with Ds is far, far more physically able than verbally.

  5. I. Am. DYING. That is so adorable. And I too am jealous of Josie's speech abilities...like Kim, my 5 yo is barely delayed at all physically but speech has been very slow in coming.

  6. Big crush on Kody here, too! Really though, this is a wonderful posting. Loved the video and the photos. Seeing an email notice of a new "Confessions" posting always starts my day off right!

  7. I have a big crush on Kody, too. The favorite way to start my day is with a new posting from "Confessions". It always makes me happy. Love the video today, as well as the beautiful photos. (Hope this isn't a repeat. I tried to comment and it bounced back, I think)

  13. Oh my goodness! Josie speaks so well. I love her little voice, it's so cute. I was wondering what age she said her first word and what you all did to help her begin talking. My sister is almost 15 months and I can't wait to hear her talk. She has made a couple sounds that sound like words but not an offical word yet. Would love to hear what advice you have on speech if you have time. Love your posts even though I don't comment often.
